Feeding Kids’ Potential by Fueling Their Ideas
We asked kids and parents everywhere to tell us their big ideas to bring more kindness, curiosity, and bravery into the world — and they delivered! The entries introduced us to some of the best and brightest kids around.
Now, it’s time to make these interesting, exciting plans a reality. Jif® funded 3 finalists with a total of $30,000. And you can help too! Support their campaigns, and help one winner score an additional $20,000 from Jif to reach an even bigger audience.
One winner will receive an additional $20,000 from Jif!
Ten year-old Ewan Drum is a special kind of superhero. Known around his native Detroit as Super Ewan, this fifth grader is focused on one thing: helping the homeless in his community. Twice a month, Super Ewan goes on an “adventure,” where he distributes non-perishable food, clothing, toiletries and basic necessities to those in need. Some adventures even include bagged lunches, or, in the summer, hot dogs grilled by Super Ewan himself. His mission’s motto? “We can all be a superhero to someone.”
Born with a cleft palate — one of the most common birth defects in the world — eight year-old Charlotte Gould sports a faint pink scar on the left side of her upper lip, but it barely made a dent in her mission to bring happiness to others. Two years ago, Charlotte discovered a talent for sewing, and since then she’s been hard at work making rag dolls, selling them, and donating proceeds to cleft lip and palate charities. But Charlotte didn’t stop there: she recently founded Stitches by Charlotte, a line of personalized dolls for kids with medical procedures scars to help make other children as confident as she is.
Podcasts are everywhere these days, but our favorite is This American Kid, hosted by six year-old Milo Flake. Milo’s sense of wonder — and his range of guests — spans far and wide (he’s even interviewed an 11-time world surfing champion!) Most of his guests are grownups following their childhood passions, and Milo’s natural inquisitiveness is both charming and educational. Milo wants to connect children everywhere to great role models who can inspire them to dream big, and your support will make this a reality.
